The new integrations align Tableau and Slack in competition against Microsoft’s Power BI data visualization software, and Teams communication and collaboration platform. Salesforce said Tableau was part of nine of its top 10 deals in the quarter. Tableau’s revenue reached $469 million, up 22%, in Salesforce’s second quarter of its fiscal 2022, ended in July. Tableau has continued to grow as part of Salesforce. Salesforce closed its $15.7 billion acquisition of Tableau in August 2019, a little over two years ago. The integrations follow Salesforce’s completion of its $27.7 billion Slack acquisition in July. “This is really about bringing analytics in the flow of business, where people work,” said Francois Ajenstat, Tableau chief product officer, in a media briefing.
